Kierkegaard's response formed the backbone of his own philosophical and theological project, namely his attempt to form authentic Christian individuals through the use of 'the moment', 'the leap' and 'contemporaneity'.

This study brings Kierkegaard's critique of Christian nationalism into conversation with current political science theories of religious nationalism and reflects on the implications of Kierkegaard's radical approach. While the critique is unsettling to politicians and church leaders alike, nevertheless there is much to commend it to the reality of modern religious and social life. As a theological thinker keenly aware of the unique problems posed by Christendom, Kierkegaard's critique is timely for any Christian culture that is tempted to confuse its faith with patriotism or national affiliation.

Perry Stone is amazing! He puts together Scripture and patterns like no one else. Everything in this book has been researched and has footnotes. There is so much information about patterns in America and end time prophecy! You can read it straight through, or pick and choose chapters. But this is a book that you will read several times and go back to again and again. Highly recommended!!

About the Author
Michael Sullivan, Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Chicago State University, received a Ph.D. in mathematics from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Before retiring, Mike taught at Chicago State for 35 years, where he honed an approach to teaching and writing that forms the foundation for his textbooks. Mike has been writing for over 35 years and currently has fifteen books in print. His books have been awarded both Texty and McGuffey awards from TAA.
Mike is a member of both the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America and the Text and Academic Authors Association, and received the TAA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. His influence in the field of mathematics extends to his four children: Kathleen, who teaches college mathematics; Michael III, who also teaches college mathematics, and who is his coauthor on two precalculus series; Dan, who is a sales director for a college textbook publishing company; and Colleen, who teaches middle-school and secondary school mathematics. Twelve grandchildren round out the family.

A Great Introduction to C#

I think this book does a great job of introducing the basics of the C# programming language. I read the book cover to cover and did all the exercises and even created a few of my own. I feel pretty good about basic OOP concepts now. Mr. Bako seems to have a way with making those concepts simple, relatively straight forward and I no longer feel that I'm on shaky ground with OOP at this level of depth.

The book introduces C# using the console window and does not teach the .NET Framework. I think this is a logical progression in C# and you'll be glad you finished the book. I'm guessing that (.NET) may come in the next book that Mr. Bako writes for C#. Honestly, I can hardly wait for it. When will that book get written and published? That's hard to tell.

I highly recommend this book as an introduction to the language. You'll get your feet wet with C# and you'll make sense of the language to where you won't be lost when it comes to incorporating the .NET Framework later. If you already program in another language, you'll whiz right through this book. If you're new to programming period, you won't get lost and you'll feel much more confident in using your new skills. You'll gain that confidence if you make sure that you do all the exercises in the book. They're not hard and they get you thinking. Definitely worth the time it takes to do them.

Here's hoping Mr. Bako writes the intermediate level C# book soon. I haven't seen anything showing that it is in the works. Only a comment or so written in the book. I'm currently working on the .NET framwork with C#. Call it impatience, but I need to keep going with the language.

The book does a great job of teaching the very basics of C#. If you're on the fence about getting it, don't hesitate and go for it! The price is right and it's not a 1000 page tome to muddle through either.

Another great Joes2Pros book

I own 3 other Joes2Pros books on SQL, and when I saw there is another Joes2Pros book out, I didn't have to think twice to purchase this new C# book. I've had such great experiences with Joes2Pros books, I am basically waiting for each one as soon as it is fresh off the press. I was new to SQL, and when I finished the 3 Joes2Pros SQL books, I feel like a Pro. C# is widely used in the tech job market, and by the time I was done, this regular Joe truly feels like a Pro. This book is written in a very clear way, and really helps you understand the C# language. I love all the Joes2Pros books, I strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants to clearly understand C#, and actually have fun and enjoys it while learning.

Joes2Pros saved my life

I was attending a college class on C# programming in the .net environment and the instructor was teaching theory and then not letting us learn how to program. I was in big trouble, and was way behind. A fellow classmate suggested the Joes2pros book on c#, so I got it.

What an incredible difference. It literally opened my eyes to what I was trying to learn. Every chapter was well paced and well thought out. There were plenty of opportunities to code and to learn new skills. and each chapter's skills were building all the way through the book. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I cannot recommend the Joes2pros series enough. Fantastic.

About the Author
Andrew Hunt is an experienced teacher, examiner and author. He has taken a leading role in the Nuffield Chemistry, Twenty First Century Science and Science in Society projects. He taught advanced chemistry course in schools for 20 years and has written a variety of successful chemistry textbooks including an AS and A2 textbook/CD-ROM series. In 1988 I was awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry Award in Chemical Education. I was a founder member and director of the Association for Science Education's SATIS project to promoted the public understanding of science through the school curriculum. This interest continues with the development of a new AS course called 'Science for Public Understanding'. I am also part of the management team for another ASE project called Science across the World which creates opportunities for students in schools all over the world to explore issues related to science in society and then exchange their findings with students in other countries by fax or e-mail.
