It's a WORKbook, not a TEXTbook.

I just got the product today and I can say that I am kind of disappointed. I thought this was going to be a textbook but it's more like a workbook. This would've been great if I didn't RENT the book. I don't suggest renting this book. Instead if I knew this was going to be a workbook I would've BOUGHT it. I wasn't expecting to be able to write in it, I thought it was just reading. Also I found pages where other people wrote in it. If it was a textbook I would have given it 5 stars but it's like a workbook where you actually do WORK instead of reading like a textbook.

Errors, Omissions, and Mistakes

I am very disappointed with this textbook. The reason being there are numerous errors throughout the entire book. As this is a medical terminology text created for a college level course to teach aspiring medical professionals, it's almost appalling the standard they have held themselves to: LOW. They explicitly state in the text the potential dangers that can occur from misunderstanding or incorrectly communicating medical terms. Yet that is exactly what occurs within the book itself!
To begin, answers for the exercises in the back of the book have numerous mistakes (8 in chp 2 alone!). The mistakes include entirely wrong answers and incomplete answers, mostly just completely wrong though. In addition, within the text itself are missing vocabulary words that show up as answers for the exercises. Also, in one instance they were claiming the suffix "-osis" had two different meanings. Talk about confusing! I shouldn't have to double check answers and meanings to words on the internet!
If I can make a slightly cynical comment, it would appear that the editors' only past experiences prior to this textbook were working for high school newspapers!

GREAT BOOK!!

This book really makes it easy to learn Medical Terminology. The exercises done online using the enclosed code is both interactive, fun and makes learning the terms even easier!
